Blencathra, Lake District Panoramic Canvas Print
Blencathra is one of the most recognisable mountains in the Lake District, and I particularly love photographing it when the heather is flowering in late summer.
I took this photograph with some really dramatic weather coming across the mountain. The patches of sunlight were picking out the purple heather on the lower slopes, while the mountain behind was much darker under the clouds.
I love the contrast between the purple heather, the green hillsides and the dark sky. It’s a view I’ve photographed many times, but the light and colours were particularly good on this occasion.
I think this photograph works really well as a large panoramic canvas print, especially with the mountain stretching right across the image.
