Blea Tarn & Langdale Pikes, Lake District
This is one of my favourite views in the whole of the Lake District – looking across Blea Tarn towards the Langdale Pikes.
I took this on a beautifully still morning when the water was almost completely flat, giving me that wonderful reflection of the mountains and trees across the tarn. The warm light catching the landscape just finished it off.
This is an image that really works big. I actually have it hanging five feet wide in my own bedroom and it looks incredible at that size. The panoramic shape and reflection really suit a large canvas, particularly over a bed or sofa where you’ve got a long stretch of wall to fill.
