View from the Top of Pen-y-ghent at Sunrise
This was taken early one morning at the top of Pen-y-ghent, just as the sun was starting to rise. The path leads out over the moorland, and the light was just beginning to hit the tops of the hills — catching the grasses and the stone wall beautifully. Off in the distance you can see Pendle Hill, sitting quietly under a soft layer of haze.
It was freezing, totally still, and completely worth the climb in the dark. A peaceful, golden moment before the rest of the world wakes up.
